Mental conditions that qualify someone for SSDI

No matter what disability you live with, the circumstances are understandably brutal. No one would want to live with difficult circumstances such as paralysis, the loss of limbs, or piercing chronic back pain that makes manual labor impossible. As bad as physical disabilities are, mental disabilities are just as nightmarish. They are often hard to articulate and diagnose. Sometimes, they are cyclical or their symptoms aren't apparent at a certain point in time. This can make things very difficult for the Social Security Administration when they are trying to evaluate your application on the basis of a mental condition.

However, rest assured that the SSA does have provisions for mental conditions under Social Security disability benefits.

There are a whole host of mental conditions that can qualify someone for Social Security disability benefits. Schizophrenia and bipolar conditions can qualify someone for benefits; autism can afford someone these benefits; even depression and anxiety can qualify someone for Social Security disability benefits.

How do you prove to the SSA that you condition merits such disability benefits? Well, you're going to need to supply them with significant evidence, so you should talk with your medical professionals extensively about your situation. Get as much evidence, support, and documentation that you can from your doctors, and be sure to consult with an attorney during the process. This will assure that you are organized and prepared, and that all of the evidence that you bring to the table is presented in an efficient and compliant manner.
